Why MK-II? 3LOP+ was my first crack at modeling an opto compressor two years ago, the hardest unit in the catalog to get right, and it's held up well since. MK-II is what two more years of practice on the same hardware gets you: tighter attack/release, a refined envelope shape, and program dependency that holds up more consistently across material — though the FDA and dry/wet options from MK-I aren't in this build. This is a full second pass on the modeling of this unit using a different approach. You'll also get an extra program tuned after the Vxbx's limiter (which is based on the original 3LOP)

Based on a modern optical leveler that provides a smooth, transparent compression ranging from soft to hard knee. Thanks to its faster time constant and its treatment of transients, it is suitable for the widest variety of applications — including drums, percussion, vocal and bass guitar. Compress mode with lower ratio and variable hi-pass filter are available for 2-bus applications.

 Features :

- Program dependent attack, release (2-stage)

- Limit/Compress/Blend mode with different time constants.

- Fuse controls the 2nd delayed release with the same time range. Decrease the Fuse control to shorten the time before the 2nd Release takes over. For accurate emulation, set at max (default position)

- Variable HPF, Ahead (not on hardware).

- All sample rates Comp/Limiter, Clipper ; 4 sample rates Preamp (44.1kHz -> 96kHz).

- Skin made by V.Doan styled after the original hardware

 Specs for 63% gain reduction :

 - Attack:  15ms (Limit); 75ms (Compress)

 - Release: 50ms - 2.5s

 - Ratio :  3:1 - 10:1

 - Variable HPF up to 250Hz, 1.5/5ms Ahead option

 - Maximum input level : -17dB RMS

Suggested chain : Comp - Clipper (optional) - Pre.

Presets are under the ELP or ELP-VBX category name in Nebula.
