V Doan V542 Tape Emulator

Based on a Tape Emulator of a classic brand in 500 series format. It delivers the warmth, grit and harmonic saturation of tape, driven by a custom interstage transformer circuit acting as a true record/replay head.

Library features:

Speed: 15 IPS produces a head bump centered around 60Hz with a more pronounced HF rolloff; 30 IPS shifts the bump to ~120Hz with a flatter high-end response.

Saturation: engages at higher drive levels, gently rounding peak transients and enhancing 2nd-order harmonics

Mix : parallel blend of pre and post tape signal, from fully dry to full tape color

SSILK : switchable R/B modes, R accentuates transformer saturation in the highs and high-mids; B adds thickness and weight in the lows and low-mids

Texture : variable Slk intensity from subtle to full coloration

Three-stage signal chain: Tape Colour → Saturation → SSILK

All sample rates provided 44.1 to 96kHz
